Sunday 24th November saw veterans & armed forces community come together to join in with our Sunday roast club, seeing over 68 people enjoying roast diinner and homemade apple crumble or cheese cakes.

December 17th we helped with the local community Christmas meal offer a free three course meal, over 75 local members of the community attended.

We are have teamed up and supporting the pantry nook which supports those going through tough times, supporting food poverty by supplyng freash & dryed food, meat as well as hygeine products.

Military  & Community Events Your Welcome To Attened

Come & join us for our Sunday roast club which is open to veterans & serving personnel at a discount price.

Come & join us for our cream tea, each veteran or serving personell are welcome to a FREE cream tea

Come join us on Armed Forces Day where all veterans/armed forces personnel receive a free cream tea. You're welcome to bring family and friends at the cost of £5.
On the day we will have vehicles and military items on display from Leicestershire museum and collectors.

AFVBC will be helping again with Harborough at War, Operation Market Harborough’s second show is set to take place over the weekend of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd August 2025.

The venue is still the excellent Market Harborough Showground, Leicestershire and the organisers promise the same wonderful mix of history, education and loud bangs!

Entertainment will be in abundance with a full roster of singers and music in the marquee throughout the day and evening.

Armed Forces Day we welcomed Deputy Mayor Cllr Jasvir Kaur Chohan & Cllr Bill Boulter & Cllr Carl Walter from Oadby & Wigston Council.

Veterans come together to enjoy our cream teas during the summer which are free, we have seen over 150 people enjoy our cream teas & cakes in 2024.

AFVBC supported the Oadby & Wigston Rememberance Chapel event.

AFVBC runs a Sunday Roast Club throughout the year supporting not just veterans from the community, but also local residents. 

AFVBC & Oadby & Wigston Borough Council arranged a re-dedication service at Wigston cemetery for new rememberance chapel. We where joined by members of the armed forces, cadets, counsellors and members of the public.

Member of the Oadby & Wigston Borough AFVBC & the local Army Cadets from Wigston attend Wigston Cemertery to clean all militray graves and to place a Rememberance poppy cross is front of all 60 graves.
Will Remember Them 

Members of Oadby & Wigston Borough AFVBC attended the old barracks church St Thomas for remembrance day service.

Members of the groups attened the local St Thomas Church christangle service, lovely service with the church full of local residents & their families.

Armed Forces day event was joined by Culture to you from Leicestershire County Council with items from their museum.

Busy Armed Forces event with over 45 people attending and supporting, nice to see new faces and the regulars.

We have displays  which are not just educational to the younger ones, but will also jog peoples memories & in return will start some great conversation talking about the good old days!

Public Events


We  support a number of public events around the borough & district, this will include  Operation Market Harborough in August 2025 which is a large military event. We also be attening Comfest, VJ Day, Leicestershire County Show, Leicester Car Shoe & others.

Community Events

We attend local community events to help promote the AFVBC and the service & support we can offer to the local Armed forces community.

Remembrance Events

We run and take part in different events leading upto the 11th November within the borough to remember the fallen.

Church Community

We take part in our local church events throughout the year supporting our local community.

War Graves Wigston

Throughout the year the group along with army cadets, clean and tidy up the local graves who have all served within the forces.

Chrsitmas for Veterans

We support & run meals throughout the year, including a three course Christmas meals for veterans, serving personnel.
