Sunday 24th November saw veterans & armed forces community come together to join in with our Sunday roast club, seeing over 68 people enjoying roast diinner and homemade apple crumble or cheese cakes.
We are have teamed up and supporting the pantry nook which supports those going through tough times but supplyng freash & dryed food as well as hygeine products.

Armed Forces Day we welcomed Deputy Mayor Cllr Jasvir Kaur Chohan & Cllr Bill Boulter & Cllr Carl Walter from Oadby & Wigston Council.
Veterans come together to enjoy our cream teas during the summer which are free, we have seen over 150 people enjoy our cream teas & cakes in 2024.
AFVBC supported the Oadby & Wigston Rememberance Chapel event.
AFVBC runs a Sunday Roast Club throughout the year supporting not just veterans from the community, but also local residents.
AFVBC & Oadby & Wigston Borough Council arranged a re-dedication service at Wigston cemetery for new rememberance chapel. We where joined by members of the armed forces, cadets, counsellors and members of the public.
Member of the Oadby & Wigston Borough AFVBC & the local Army Cadets from Wigston attend Wigston Cemertery to clean all militray graves and to place a Rememberance poppy cross is front of all 60 graves.
Will Remember Them
Come & join us to remember the fallan, on Monday 11th November we will be offer all veterans and serving personnel a free breakfast. The event will also be open to the public to attend this event, so we can all remember together,
Will Remember Them
Come along & join us this festive time at South Wigston Christmas Capers which takes place on Saturday 7th December. This event is free to attend and park, with over 70 stalls inside & out, selection of festive food, and also santa will be stopping by to visit. AFVBC will also be there to promote the group and to raise funds to support the groups events in 2025.
Armed Forces day event was joined by Culture to you from Leicestershire County Council with items from their museum.
Busy Armed Forces event with over 45 people attending and supporting, nice to see new faces and the regulars.
Breakfast Club
The AFVBC meets every Monday from 10am where you can come together and break bread, enjoy good banter and enjoy freshly cooked food. The food we offer range from eggs on toast to three options of full english breakfast, which also includes a vegetarian option. All our breakfasts include hot drink and toast.

Military & Community Events
Come join us on Armed Forces Day where all veterans/armed forces personnel receive a free cream tea. You're welcome to bring family and friends at the cost of £5.
On the day we will have vehicles and military items on display from Leicestershire museum and collectors.
Come & join us on Sunday 10th November to remember the fallen at St Thomas church with fall church service followed by Act of Remembrance with wreath laying.
Come & join us on Monday 11th November to Remember the fallen at Elliott Hall in South Wigston to enjoy banter & breakfast . 11am will be 2 minutes of silence as part of the Act of Remembrance. All Welcome

Come & join us for our rememberance coffee morning, where we will supply a free bacon/sausage cob & hot drink. At 11am we have 2 min silence followed by bugle & wreath laying. Your all welcome to come and join us. Door open from 10am
Other Events You're Welcome To
November will see the first Sunday roast club meeting, where you can enjoy freshly cooked food from our ex army chef. This is discounted for veterans & serving personnel at £5.00 which includes pudding. This you must book for as spaces are limited to 60 people.
Christmas Capers is a large community event where Oadby & Wigston Borough AFVBC will be attending and promoting the group and suppoer we offer to the community.
We offer differnt events the last Sunday of each month including our famous cream tea event, where all our produce is freshly homemade. (Next Cream Tea April 2025)
Come & enjoy a selection of homemade soup and freshly baked bread with a hot drink. Free to veterans & serving personnel. Our next soup event will be in 2025

Armed Forces Day
We have displays which are not just educational to the younger ones, but will also jog peoples memories & in return will start some great conversation talking about the good old days!
Public Events
We support a number of public events around the borough & district, this will include Operation Market Harborough in August 2025 which is a large military event. We also be attening Comfest, VJ Day, Leicestershire County Show, Leicester Car Shoe & others.
Community Events
We attend local community events to help promote the AFVBC and the service & support we can offer to the local Armed forces community.
Remembrance Events
We run and take part in different events leading upto the 11th November within the borough to remember the fallen.
War Graves Wigston
Throughout the year the group along with army cadets, clean and tidy up the local graves who have all served within the forces.
