Providing Employment Support & Volunteering
We also work with and refer to the S.P.E.E.D project who offer employment support and explore volunteering opportunties for partners/spouses of serving Armed Forces members in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR), empowering positive steps towards new opportunities.
Support may include:
- Volunteering Support- to gain work experience with regular volunteering.
- Employability Skills-CV writing, job searches, cover letter/personal statement, interview techniques and more.
- Apprenticeship-Explore apprenticeship opportunities.
- Education-Learn new skills, update skills, training with local providers.
- Signposting to other local agencies in the LLR area for additional support to meet individual's specific needs.
The SPEED Project will offer personalised comprehensive support through dedicated key-worker. This key-worker will build trust and rapport with partners and spouse of armed forces personnel, working on one to understand and address each participant's unique needs.
They will outline a support plan for approximately 3-6 months.
Additionally, our key-workers will collaborate with participants to fully understand their needs and overall goals, helping them achieve their potential
Food & Hygiene Support
Our community pantry has been set up to help to address the issue of food and money poverty in our community of South Wigston within the borough of Oadby & Wigston. In particular our pantry focuses on affordability and access. For more information click link below

National Support
Provides self-help mental health advice on their website. They offer mental health helplines 24 hours a day for confidential advice and support
